The Prairie House is a two-story dwelling, designed by Herb Greene, that pushed the boundaries of geometric architecture in 1961. The exterior of the house has a slight resemblance to a prairie chicken, inspiring the house’s nickname. The interior displays a radial pattern of cedar shingles giving a subtle nod to the rhythm of the Oklahoma landscape. Photographing this project required a different approach to capture the warm, natural light from the east-facing windows and to show the integrity of the historical design.

Toronto Raptors' Practice Facility
BioSteel Centre, located in Exhibition Place in Toronto, is a 69,000-square-foot facility that is one of the premier practice facilities in the NBA. The multipurpose building includes a hydrotherapy room, video-viewing room, therapy areas, common areas, two full-size practice courts, a war room, and more. The war room housed custom millwork that Guernsey designed specifically for the Toronto Raptors to cradle large touch-screen monitors that utilized IBM Watson for team strategy. Due to this being a fast-track project, construction and team practice took place while photographing. Careful planning and consideration was needed to get the best photos while creating the least amount of disruption possible. The project was published in a handful of publications – one being Award Magazine.

Capitol Hill Library
American Fidelity Assurance company purchased the tower previously owned by The Oklahoman in 2012. They intended this space to be renovated to reflect their current staffing demographic and to attract a future workforce. The design that Guernsey produced allowed American Fidelity’s staff to enjoy fellowship from an open office concept, a fitness center, an auditorium, and a cafe on site. The phased design of this project meant that staff had moved into areas of the building while construction was taking place. Multiple photo shoots were necessary to photograph the complete design of the tower while remaining non-distracting to the American Fidelity team.
Located in the new business district, Legacy West, in Plano, Boeing Global Services requested a retrofit design of their new headquarters building. The space consisted of a light-filled rotunda inspired by a turbine in the middle of their break area. Due to the limited amount of time to photograph, a special technique was needed to ensure the exterior lighting and the interior rotunda lighting were both visible in the photos.
